Jayden James Lands First Solo MACzine Cover After Paris Runway Debut

In just over three months, Jayden James has moved from fashion-show guest to Paris runway model, and now to the cover of a major beauty brand’s digital publication.

The 19-year-old son of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline was unveiled as the latest MACzine cover star on August 25, 2026. Photographed by Sarah Pardini, the editorial places Jayden at the center of a MAC Cosmetics feature built around fashion, music and the brand’s Fix+ setting spray.

The deliberately provocative cover asks, “Who the f—k is Jayden James?” MAC’s answer presents him as more than Britney Spears’ son: a young model, self-taught musician and emerging creative figure beginning to establish a public identity of his own.

The MACzine cover is Jayden’s first solo cover and follows his runway debut for Vetements during Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June. Together, the two appearances suggest that what began as an unexpected fashion opportunity may be developing into a serious creative path.

Jayden James’ MACzine Cover Marks a Beauty Debut

The MACzine editorial introduces Jayden through a series of images featuring MAC’s Fix+ Multitasking Setting Spray. The accompanying interview is light and personal, touching on his fashion influences, runway nerves, music and uncomplicated approach to skincare.

Jayden told MACzine that he had long enjoyed fashion and creativity, crediting Brazilian model Francisco Lachowski with helping spark his interest in modeling.

His beauty routine is equally straightforward. Jayden said hydration is important but acknowledged that his girlfriend largely manages his skincare. According to the feature, his basic routine consists of face wash, moisturizer and facial spray. MAC Cosmetics’ official MACzine feature confirms the editorial was published on August 25.

MAC Global Creative Director Nicola Formichetti described Jayden as an emerging talent with a distinctive creative outlook. He also drew attention to Jayden’s piano ability, reinforcing the publication’s portrayal of him as both a model and musician.

The feature should not, however, be confused with an announcement that Jayden has become a permanent MAC ambassador. What has been confirmed is his position as a MACzine cover star and the subject of a branded Fix+ editorial.

How Jayden’s Fashion Story Began

Jayden’s more visible entry into fashion began on May 13, when he attended Dior’s Cruise 2027 show at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was a relatively understated appearance, but it placed him inside a major fashion setting before his first professional walk.

The decisive moment came on June 26 at the Vetements Spring 2027 menswear show in Paris. Jayden and his older brother, Sean Preston, 20, had initially expected to attend the show as guests. According to their subsequent interview with Vogue, creative director Guram Gvasalia invited them to join the runway instead.

Neither brother had previously walked a major fashion show. Once in Paris, they began preparing more seriously and received help developing their walks. Jayden appeared in a white tank top, jeans and green footwear, while Sean wore a darker layered look featuring an inside-out coat.

Jayden later admitted that his walk felt stiff because he was nervous. Still, when Vogue asked whether he wanted to model again, his response was clear: “I don’t know about Preston, but I’m definitely interested.”

That distinction matters. Sean said he enjoyed the experience but remained uncertain about pursuing modeling. Jayden, meanwhile, spoke specifically about improving his walk, suggesting he viewed the debut as something to build on rather than a one-time appearance.

Britney Spears Supported Her Sons From Afar

Britney Spears did not attend the Vetements show, but the clearest account of her reaction comes directly from Jayden.

Speaking to Vogue, he said his mother “was so nervous for us” because she wanted to ensure that both brothers genuinely wanted the opportunity. She sent flowers to their Paris hotel and contacted them repeatedly through calls and text messages before the show.

Jayden also recalled Spears encouraging them with a simple message: “You guys are my sons. You’ve got this.”

Her response added a personal dimension to the brothers’ debut without overshadowing their work. Spears’ own career has long involved performance, fashion and highly choreographed public appearances, but the available evidence indicates that she acted as a supportive parent rather than directing their professional decisions.

From the Runway to a Growing MAC Relationship

Jayden’s connection with MAC became publicly visible before the cover appeared. On August 12, he attended the cosmetics company’s House of Glass party in Los Angeles, wearing a black leather jacket, dark top, gray jeans and black loafers.

The event celebrated MAC’s Lustreglass lip products and included guests such as Gabbriette, JT and Landon Barker. Less than two weeks later, MAC released the Jayden James cover and editorial. People documented both the Los Angeles appearance and the subsequent MACzine announcement.

The progression is notable: Dior guest in May, Vetements model in June, MAC event attendee in mid-August and MACzine cover star by August 25. It is a short résumé, but the sequence shows sustained involvement rather than a single celebrity-family appearance.

Music Remains Part of Jayden James’ Plans

Modeling is not Jayden’s only stated interest. MAC describes him as a self-taught musician, while Formichetti has highlighted his piano playing. Jayden and Sean also told Vogue that they have worked on music throughout their lives and are interested in creating material together.

No release date, recording deal or confirmed music project has been announced. Likewise, Jayden has not publicly identified his next runway show. His plans therefore remain open, with modeling and music appearing to develop alongside one another.

Jayden James’ MACzine cover represents the clearest solo milestone of his emerging career. It follows a carefully documented series of fashion appearances and gives him an opportunity to speak about his own interests rather than simply being discussed as Britney Spears’ son.

What comes next has not been confirmed. For now, however, Jayden has expressed a genuine interest in returning to the runway, while his MAC Cosmetics moment shows that fashion and beauty brands are already paying attention.

As of August 28, 2026, Jayden James is MACzine’s latest cover star following his June runway debut for Vetements. He has expressed interest in further modeling and making music, but no next campaign, runway appearance or music release has been officially announced.
